The film was about Noodles and his friends. Noodles is a poor child who lives in a Jewish neighborhood. Noodles set up a gang and starts to rise. In the 1930’s, They became one of the most dangerous gangs. Afterwhile the gang came apart. 30 years later, Noodles returns to New York City. In New York City, Noodles remembers his old days. In the movie, the prohibition in America is told.
I chose this film because I like Robert De Niro. Sergio Leone refused The Godfather for this movie. This movie’s scenario is written in 10 years. This film describes power of love, friendship, betrayal.
What I liked about the film
Firstly, Everybody is a great acting in this movie. The film is one of the most beautiful transitions in the history of cinema. When Noodles watching to Deborah, the camera focus on De Niro’s eyes. While The camera is opened many years have passed. Noodles raped Carol during the jewel robbery. The next scene starts on an ocean shore with screaming gulls. This scene is a wonderful moment for the history of cinema. Great film where each frame can be printed as a postcard. After Noodles raped Debprah, he told the taxi driver to ‘take her home’. The cab driver’s not taking the money. This scene is morally beautiful. Also, in a scene, Moe says ‘what have you been doing all these years?’ and Noodles answers ‘ I have been going to bed early.’
What I didn’t like about the film
The only thing I didn’t like in the movie was that there were too many slang and rape.

ONE CHRACATER I LIKED
My favorite character is Noodles because He loves Deborah so much. When he saw Deborah’s son, I cried for him.
ONE CHRACATER I DIDN’T LIKE
All the characters in the film were necessary for the smoothness of the film. I like all of them.
My favourite scene was ‘Noodles, I slipped…’. While Dominic was walking in the Manhattan Bridge, He see Bugsy and says ‘Bugsy is coming,run’. Several minutes later, Bugsy kills Dominic. Noodles take him and Dominic says ‘Noodles,I slipped.’
I would recommend this film to everyone because Anyone, who says I love cinema, should watch this movie. There is a different fiction and technique. One of the most beautiful movies I’ve ever watched. The progress of a friendship that started in childhood; in other words, it is a magnificent film that shows how life flows.
ONE MORE COMMENT
The phone scene, which starts playing in the eighth minute of the movie, continues until the 11th minute. The director’s length is 3 hours and 40 minutes. The filmmakers convinced director Sergio Leone that some scenes from the film were to be seen as he thought that America would find it long. Because of the scenes cut, however, the film did not receive the necessary attention in the United States. According to the American cinema, the film was the worst film of the year, but when it was released in the length of the director, the film received the attention it deserved.
